Food and Dining at Ballinkeele Country House, Ireland
The
magnificent Victorian period dining room at Ballinkeele, with
its rich red décor, radiates a country house grandeur
of bygone years. Guests enjoy their evening meal in a timeless
candlelit atmosphere, as they dine together around the family’s
original large mahogany table.
Each morning guests are served a full and hearty breakfast that will set them up for the day and every evening guests are offered a 4 course, set menu of succulent meals prepared by the hostess, Margaret, a member of Euro-Toques (European Community of Cooks).
Ballinkeele promotes the use of naturally produced ingredients by using locally sourced meat and fish, accompanied where possible, with fresh fruit and vegetables from the house garden. With these delicious local foods, Margaret strives to satisfy all the senses in her cooking; the taste, the smell and the presentation of each dish combines with the splendid surroundings of the dining room to enhance the enjoyment of really good food.
Communal dining creates a warm and friendly environment, which allows the guests to get to know each other. For guests that wish to dine independently a separate table can be arranged. Ballinkeele is pleased to cater for special dietary requirements, but notice prior to arrival is required.
Ballinkeele is licenced to sell wine and has a good cellar with many fine wines to choose from. Dinner is served at 7.30pm.Sample Menu
